CR220E: Fix Missing Memory Stick Icon After Installing XP

After installing Microsoft Windows XP into his Sony Vaio CR220E, Ron has asked me how to solve missing memory stick icon. He found that there is “blank” memory stick icon. Do you have same problem? You may have to follow below simple step for solving your problem.

-Locate snymsico.dll to your C:\Windows
- You have to edit registry by (Go to “Run” -> type “Regedit”) locate HKLM -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Explorer -> AutoPlayHandlers -> DeviceGroups -> MemoryStick
- MAKE IT SURE that you set Icons to %SystemRoot%\snymsico.dll,0
- You also MAKE IT SURE to Set NoMediaIcons to %SystemRoot%\snymsico.dll,1

Sony announces BD-ROM touting 15.5-inch VAIO NW

Sony has recently come forth and announced their latest VAIO offering, the NW — This notebook will feature a 15.5-inch WXGA display with XBRITE, a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of DDR2 RAM an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 video card with 512MB of ram. Additionally it will have support for 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, a 400GB harddrive, and battery options of 1.5 hours all the way up to 5.5 hours.
The real selling point of this machine, however, is it’s 4x BD-ROM drive which coupled with it’s VGA and HDMI outputs make it a great entertainment option. Lastly, the VAIO NW features support slots for Memory Stick Pro, ExpressCard and SD cards.
The VAIO NW will ship sometime next month starting at $880 with the BD-ROM drive and $800 without.
