Studio 17: Blue Screen After Updating Windows

Just purchased Dell Studio 17 ones found the laptop comes with Vista operating system. Once gets the laptop in hand, he start setting up. While go through the normal recommended setup options, the Windows update then install and apply almost immediately without warning. Even he’s unable to restart the computer during the update process. As he wouldn’t use yet the Windows Update he wants to turn off the automatic Windows Update option and install these updates later.

Other user who has Vista update automatically installs, he’s got the BSOD often each load up his Studio 17 and he’s also get a problem of the lid. When he’s close the lid, the computer will reload and bring up to the black screen.

Basically, you can turn off the Windows Update option at Dell Studio 17 even if you run the factory image restore. So, in case you’ve got a problem after Vista update automatically installs, you can figure it out by watching a certain update installed, that mostly cause the problem. All you need to do is take that off and install a service pack

Avoid Blue Screen of Death on HP G50

After creates floppy USB drive as the solution for BSOD on HP G50 downgrade to XP by use the appropriate SATA drivers for the corresponding chipset like posted before, here are the trick what you should do.

Each time your HP G50 get a blue screen of death after the install, use the floppy USB drive you’re created. After prompt appeared “press any key to boot from cd” the blue screen follows before does not appear, now the problem is a blank black screen. Here are the steps to fix:

- With the USB floppy drive attached to the HP G50 laptop, when the screen goes black, start hitting f6 until the laptop starts to beep back at you.
- Watch for the CD status light in the front left of the laptop to stop blinking, wait for the CD to stop pinning, the screen will still be black but things are now idle and it wants the SATA driver.
- Press the ‘S’ key and watch for the USB floppy drive light to flicker.
- Press the up key 7 times to get the correct SATA driver in the list you unable see.
- Press Enter and watch for the floppy drive light again to flicker.
- Once the floppy drive light or noise of the copy’s sound stops, Press Enter again.

Now all the files will continue to load. When all is load completely you will finally be greeted with the hard drive page. And the BSOD problem on your HP G50 should be fixed.

Note:
In case pressing the UP key seven times still gives you the BSOD after the process, jusa try again with 6 times.
