Latitude E6400: DisplayPort not Working on Windows 7

While try connecting Dell E6400 laptop to TV via HDMI the user has facing up the trouble that actually comes. Samsung LCD TV seems said that there is no HDMI device connected. It was annoying as he just bought DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter to make it connect.

With the assumption the new DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter works properly at the E6400 and you’re installed the newest nVidia version already, you can try to use the Nvidia Control Panel and make Samsung LCD TV as the secondary display enable. So now you should have several options within that panel you can play to get it works. You can try this following to access:

- Go into Nvidia Control Panel
- Select Display
- Choose Setup multiple Display section
- Looking for a link right under the white box called “My display is not shown…”
- Click on it

The one important thing in this setting is you must switch on the Samsung LCD TV, and the right input mode is selected, else the input may be detected. After leave the Nvidia Control Panel, check if E6400 laptop to TV via HDMI is connecting well.

Windows 7 on XPS 1640 : No Media Button and Mute

Installing Windows 7 on Dell Studio XPS 1640 and updating drivers work great. All devices recognize well and seem like everything runs properly. But it user found that no media button there and volume up/down going mute. While check the Windows 7 hotkeys, all works except for eject.

Thought the problem of media button at Studio XPS 1640 with Windows 7 installed and the hotkey for eject didn’t works most likely caused of QuickSet software. So, all you need to do is install Windows 7 version of QuickSet. This should be resolving the media button problem of XPS 1640.

In case installing quickset didn’t fix eject button you need to know about ISO mounting software in your Studio XPS 1640. If you have it, make sure that it’s not the first optical drive in the letter order, as the “soft” eject key this program has will eject the first optical drive, and not necessarily the first physical one.

Apple Considering Background Tasks

If there is one weakness that the iPhone has right now, it has to be the ability to allow other processes to run in the background. Understandably, the iPhone is not expected to perform in the same way that PCs and notebooks can, allowing other processes to run while the main app is on the foreground. However, Apple seems to be seriously considering this option to push through.
One would think that if this were to happen, a lot of things may have to be considered. One is the ability of the iPhone to handle such processes and perhaps upgrading or replacing some chips or parts to provide more support to the default apps.
Earlier today, Dan Frommer of Silicon Alley Insider cited sources in the mobile industry saying that Apple was serious about allowing background applications. John Gruber of Daring Fireball backed this up , saying he heard something similar from a decent source a few months ago. I’ve just spoken with a trusted source who confirmed the news as well.

Would You Like Some Color In Your iPhone?

Apple has introduced lots of colors when it refreshed its iPod nano line so why not do the same thing with the new iPhone? What if Apple introduced all those colors for iPhones too? It would certainly beat that black and white colors which we have gotten used to. Would you pay more for a differently colored iPhone? What color would you choose?
